Australian Space Agency x 33 Creative

We collaborated with 33 Creative to produce a range of animated elements for their client, The Australian Space Agency, to be exhibited at the Australian Pavilion during the 2025 World Expo in Osaka, Japan (13 April – 13 October 2025)

Our 2D/3D animations were based off a bespoke commissioned artwork by our studio co-owner, Jake Duczynski (Gomeroi and Mandandanji), and which explored the celestial sky from a First Nations perspective:

“In Gomeroi lore, Country extends beyond the edge of our world. The sky, known as the Warrambul, is more than a celestial landscape—it is a river of life that flows through the Milky Way, holding stories, knowledge, and ancestral entities that mirror and inform our lore below. Although often translated as “watercourse” or “waterway,” Warrambul is a living entity, a sky atlas that guides and reflects our ways on Earth, weaving the cosmos into the fabric of Country and our identity.”

We animated elements of Jake’s artwork, WARRAMBUL into three distinct loops, as well as one Acknowledgement of Country piece. Finally, we animated sections of Warrambul across various live-action footage of Australia’s space industry at play. Ultimately, this hero video demonstrates how Australia is bridging the gap between ancient wisdom and futuristic technology, signalling the country’s growing influence and innovation within the international space community. The result is a captivating, majestic and vivid film which engages both western science and First Nation perspectives of space.
