Tonight At The Museum
We partnered with i8 Studio to develop a complete broadcast design package for a new ABC series Tonight at the Museum, delivering a cohesive identity system that could live confidently on air and scale across future seasons. The package included logo design, title sequence, bumpers and breakers, lower third straps, and graphic insert backgrounds — all built to function as a unified brand world rather than a collection of standalone assets.
From the outset, the ambition was to create something visually distinctive and tonally precise: playful but intelligent, cinematic yet controlled, and unmistakably adult in its positioning. The identity needed to feel anchored in the richness of the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery.
Conceptually, we drew from the imaginative premise of museums coming alive after dark and filtered it through a stylised and curated lens. We explored multiple executions including live-action sequences featuring host Alex Lee navigating the museum with torchlight and FPV drone journeys through dimly lit corridors. The through-line across all explorations was a sense of curated wonder: a world that feels meticulously designed, slightly heightened, and brimming with hidden stories. The 3D assets within the title sequence was a mix of old and new with a smidge of comedy sprinkled in. The final direction balanced whimsy and sophistication.
The final typographic logo was integrated into the set design and even made it onto some merch for the show.
Watch Tonight at the Museum on the ABC and ABC iview.
