My Grandmother’s Lingo

Animated and illustrated by Studio Gilay’s own Jake Duczynski, My Grandmother’s Lingo is an immersive web-documentary featuring voice activated storytelling. Through the voice of Angelina Joshua, an inspiring Indigenous leader from Ngukurr, audiences are brought on a journey to keep language of Marra alive.

My Grandmother’s Lingo received awards from SXSW, WEBBY and the Walkley Award for Multimedia Storytelling. But most importantly, the Marra language is now spoken in local schools and across the world! You won’t believe the emails we’ve received from the farthest corners of the planet, now too speaking alongside Angelina.
